Job Description
CNC Service Technician — Senior or High-Potential Clancy Machine Tool, Inc. — Fremont, CA 94539 $40-$65/hour, you move you up that range as fast as your skills grow — not on a calendar Good CNC service techs are in demand right now, and we know it. That's why we've focused on being a place worth choosing — quality equipment, a team that supports each other, real training, and pay that reflects skill rather than just years on the job. If you take your craft seriously, we'd like to talk. The Opportunity Clancy Machine Tool is a full-service CNC machine tool distributor serving Northern California's precision manufacturing industry. We install and service high-end machining and turning centers — Makino, YCM, Star Swiss, and Hyundai-Wia — for aerospace, semiconductor, medical, and job-shop customers across the Bay Area. This is a field service role: a different shop, machine, and problem most days. You'll diagnose and repair CNC machining and turning centers, work directly with customers, and handle the job from the first call to a running machine. Most of our customers are within 30 minutes of Fremont, so you'll spend your time fixing machines, not stuck on the road. It's hands-on, varied work, and your responsibilities grow with your skills. Who We're Looking For We weigh aptitude and drive as heavily as years of experience. Two kinds of candidates do well here: The experienced technician with a strong Fanuc and electro-mechanical background who wants better equipment, better pay, and a team that values their expertise. The fast learner — someone with a solid electro-mechanical foundation who picks things up quickly and wants to grow into one of the better techs in the trade. If you have sound electrical troubleshooting instincts, a solid mechanical background, and you'd rather solve hard problems than coast, we're interested — whether that's backed by fifteen years on the job or the aptitude and drive you show us up front. What You'll Work On 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machining centers, turning centers, and Swiss-type lathes Fanuc controls — diagnostics, ladder logic, parameters Mechanical service: spindles, ball screws, bearings, motors, belts, couplers Electrical systems: switches, overloads, contactors, magnetics, drives Strong in some of these and still learning the rest is fine — we'll help you fill the gaps.
