Job Description
STS Technical Services is hiring Traveling Field Service Representatives near Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Tacoma, Washington to support military wheeled vehicle maintenance operations. This role is ideal for experienced technicians who are comfortable working independently while representing STS directly to military customers and service providers. This position requires 50% to 100% travel. When not traveling, Field Service Representatives will report to the assigned local military installation. Candidates must live within 50 miles of Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Tacoma, Washington. Position Overview The Traveling Field Service Representative is responsible for deprocessing military wheeled vehicles, troubleshooting mechanical systems, performing repairs, coordinating parts ordering, and documenting deficiencies. This is a stand-alone position requiring professionalism, accountability, and strong communication skills. You will serve as the primary point of contact for customers at each supported site and represent the full STS team in the field. Key Responsibilities Deprocess military wheeled vehicles Perform troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of vehicle systems Order required parts to support maintenance operations Submit a deficiency report for each inspected vehicle Coordinate daily with the Warranty department Utilize Microsoft Teams and One Warranty systems Attend scheduled meetings and report on daily operational events Maintain a professional appearance and customer-focused demeanor at all times Communicate directly with customer points of contact at each location Coordinate travel schedules with the STS travel team Submit weekly status reports Represent STS independently while working at supported installations Position Requirements Active Class A or Class B CDL Ability to travel up to 100% as operationally required Must reside within 50 miles of Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Tacoma, Washington Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Professional communication and customer service skills Travel and Per Diem Information Per diem is authorized only when traveling 50 miles or more from your Home of Record near the assigned local military installation.
