Position Summary:
BioMed Techs, Inc. is looking to hire a qualified Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) or HTM professional for a full-time field service position in Sarasota and the surrounding Southwest Florida area. The position involves performing inspections, preventive maintenance (PM), troubleshooting, and repairs on a wide range of medical and laboratory equipment.
Responsibilities:
Evaluate customer medical equipment issues and service needs and perform the appropriate repairs or service. Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and conduct safety, electrical, environmental, and new equipment inspections. Be available on an as-needed basis to respond to emergency service requests outside regular working hours. Work overtime and travel long distances, including occasional overnight stays, sometimes with little to no notice. Communicate effectively and work with teammates and colleagues to complete assignments professionally and on time.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Must be able to drive alone for extended periods. Normal daily travel may involve driving up to two hours in one direction, although longer trips may occasionally be required. A valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to both BioMed Techs, Inc. and its insurance carrier are required. A minimum of two years of experience with electronic equipment or electrical systems is required. Must supply their own basic hand tools. Strong attention to detail, time-management skills, and the ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain focused in busy or distracting settings are required. Knowledge of safety regulations, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology is preferred.
Special Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds without assistance. Must be able to frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch or squat, and kneel or crawl. Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods. Must be able to reach at, above, and below shoulder level, flex and extend the neck, and have good hand and finger dexterity.
