      To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The Field Technician I performs routine checks of water and/or wastewater treatment systems; responsible for compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local rules/regulations. Assist in all areas of operations, maintenance, and customer service as needed for all facility systems within the company. Certifications required for the job must be obtained within the specified period of time. Performs routine checks of the facilities; observes and monitors equipment and operations daily; assesses problems, diagnoses equipment failures. Assists with scheduling and performing routine preventive maintenance on equipment. Assists with water and wastewater line repairs, new line installation, and other work as directed. Inspect and maintain pumps, motors, valves, and other plant equipment in working order, troubleshooting problems as they arise. Respond to and investigate customer service calls. Install and repair water and sewer lines, including taps, hydrants, meters, and manholes. Locate underground water/wastewater infrastructure before excavation to prevent damage. Troubleshoot and fix system issues such as leaks, blockages, and equipment malfunctions. Operate field and heavy equipment (backhoes, pumps, hand tools) safely and effectively. Respond to emergencies and after‑hours calls for leaks, failures, or service interruptions. Competencies Delivering High Quality Work Supporting Coworkers Communicating Effectively Working SafelyEducation H.S. Diploma or GED in GeneralCertifications Driver's License. Physical Requirements Field Based Role Work is performed primarily outside and is subject to weather and environmental conditions. Worker is subject to adverse weather and environmental conditions, including temperature extremes, humidity and precipitation; noise and vibration from heavy equipment; physical hazards from moving machinery, equipment with moving parts, traffic, hazardous chemicals, and bacteria in wastewater. Work Experience 1 year of directly related experience in water and/or wastewater system operations, maintenance, customer service, and prefer experience operating back-hoe and/or track-hoe equipment.
