Mitigation Crew Chief Position Summary The Mitigation Crew Chief is responsible for leading and supervising mitigation crews on water, fire, mold, and other property damage restoration projects. This role ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards, industry guidelines, and customer expectations. Key Responsibilities Lead, manage, and oversee mitigation technicians on job sites Execute mitigation services including water extraction, drying, demolition, mold remediation, and fire/smoke cleanup Set up and monitor drying equipment (air movers, dehumidifiers, air scrubbers) Perform and document moisture readings, psychrometric data, and job progress Ensure all work meets industry standards (e.g., IICRC guidelines) Communicate daily with project managers, office staff, and customers Maintain accurate job documentation, including photos, sketches, and notes Train and mentor crew members on proper procedures and safety protocols Ensure job sites are clean, organized, and safe at all times Manage materials, equipment, and vehicle inventory Respond to emergency service calls, including after-hours when required Qualifications Experience in water, fire, and/or mold mitigation Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred IICRC certifications (WRT required;
ASD, AMRT, FSRT
preferred) Strong knowledge of drying techniques and restoration equipment Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in physically demanding environments Comfortable working in confined spaces, heights, and varying conditions Skills & Competencies Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent communication and customer service abilities Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills Problem-solving and decision-making in fast-paced environments Time management and ability to prioritize multiple tasks Work Environment Field-based role requiring travel to residential and commercial job sites Exposure to dust, moisture, mold, and other environmental conditions On-call rotation for emergency response services Compensation & Benefits (Customize as needed) Competitive hourly wage based on experience Overtime opportunities Commission eligibility (if applicable) Health benefits, PTO, and company vehicle (if applicable)
