Job Description

Job Overview MSD Sales has been an Iowa corporation since 1999. We have built our business by delivering & servicing quality CNC machinery along with state-of-the-art technology in robotic automation. We pride ourselves on providing high value solutions with excellent customer service. We are experiencing strong growth and need to add key people to our team. The field service & support technician will perform both phone & on-site diagnostics and repair services on CNC machinery. Customer part identification assistance & sourcing when needed. Some travel is required but limited over night stays. Robotic system assembly assistance at MSD Sales work shop. Duties Perform new CNC machine installations with basic operator training. Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, sensors, specialty tools and calibration instruments. Read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, and control systems. Diagnose complex electrical problems involving industrial controls, distributed control systems (DCS), programmable logic controllers (PLCs), sensors, vision inspection systems, and high-voltage systems. Conduct repairs on electrical systems including wiring, relays, switches, motors, sensors, and safety devices following electrical safety procedures. Maintain detailed service reports documenting troubleshooting steps, repairs performed, parts used, and system upgrades. Extensive knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems integral to CNC machinery operation. Strong background in industrial electrician experience with proficiency in electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting techniques. Ability to read electrical schematics, schematics diagrams, P&IDs (piping & instrumentation diagrams), and mechanical assembly blueprints including electrical instrumentation drawings. Experience with industrial Fanuc control systems and calibration procedures. Skilled in using precision measuring instruments like calipers and ohmmeters to ensure equipment accuracy. Precision levels, draw bar tester & alignment tools. Familiarity reading technical drawings; hands-on experience with CNC machinery. Fiber laser cutting machine troubleshooting familiarity is a plus. Knowledge of electrical safety procedures for working with low voltage and high voltage systems in manufacturing environments. Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills for field service support and team collaboration. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced settings while maintaining a focus on safety and quality standards. Pay:
$100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
