SUMMARY OF POSITION
As a key player of the service team of Hengli America, the hydraulic service technician is responsible for evaluating and repairing hydraulic pumps, motors, cylinders and valves for warranty return and other purposes. This position is located at the Bolingbrook service center and will travel for servicing Hengli products or providing product training based on project and customer needs.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Evaluate product conditions by conducting performance tests and tear down inspections. Use various gauges, meters, tape measures, micrometers, calipers and electrical equipment to check parts dimensions. Determine if products from warranty return are repairable and come up with repair solutions. Complete the repair or rework of products per specifications and working instructions. Test units per procedures, instructions, and specifications. Complete all required records and documentation for each project. Communicate with customers about repair plans and project status in a timely manner. Service company products at customer sites as required, and perform testing, troubleshooting and adjustments as needed. Remain technically competent and current in new developments within the industry. Travel domestically to customer sites to offer support and product repair services
POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS
2 to 3 years in Fluid Power service and repair required, 3 to 5 years of experience preferred. A minimum of a H.S. diploma/GED required, a 2year associate degree in relevant courses preferred, or combination of formal and handson experience with more years of service can be considered. Valid driver's license. Ability to read engineering drawings and hydraulic schematics. Forklift driving experience. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Willing to travel up to 50% of the year to customer sites for service repairs Ability to effectively communicate via oral and written communication. Ability to use computer and utilize Office software. Hydraulic component troubleshooting is a plus I.E., hydraulic cylinder, pumps and motors. Hydraulic test bench knowledge or handson experience is desired.
