Job Description
Role Overview As a Field Technician, you will serve as the primary onsite point of contact for technical and service-related needs. You will be responsible for the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and repair of a variety of hardware, including laser printers, wide-format printers, kiosks, and POS systems. This is a customer-facing, travel-based role involving hands-on break/fix, IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change), and project-based work.
Key Responsibilities Technical Support:
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software issues for laser printers, wide-format/plotters, kiosks, and POS systems.Installation & Maintenance:
Install, configure, and maintain IT equipment and related applications; perform preventive and routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance.Customer Service:
Provide clear, professional technical support to customers both onsite and via telephone.Case Management:
Manage all administrative requirements for assigned cases, including scheduling visits, ordering/tracking equipment, coordinating returns, and providing real-time case note updates.Collaboration:
Partner with Level II or Lead Technicians as needed to ensure accurate and timely resolution of complex issues.Qualifications & Requirements Technical Expertise:
Strong working knowledge of computer hardware, software systems, and printers (specifically laser and wide-format/plotters).Problem Solving:
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve technical issues independently.Mechanical Aptitude:
Electro-mechanical experience is considered a plus.Communication:
Excellent verbal communication skills and a strong commitment to customer service.Self-Management:
Ability to manage multiple tasks independently while functioning effectively within a team.Physical Demands:
Physical ability to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.Work Schedule & Travel Travel:
Daily travel to various client locations is required.Availability:
Must be available for an after-hours on-call rotation, which includes nights and weekends.Note:
