We're hiring a Crew Chief to run emergency mitigation jobs — leading the crew, setting the drying, documenting the loss, and working directly with homeowners.
PAY & SCHEDULE
$22
  • 30/hour, based on experience and certifications — plus bonuses, benefits, and performance

The work week runs
Sunday-Saturday Overtime:
1.5x after 40 hrs/week.
After-hours emergency calls:
1.5x if you're still under 40 hrs for the week, 2x once you've passed 40 hrs On-call one week per month, rotating
Bonuses:
signing bonus on signed projects, employee referral bonuses, performance & review bonuses
Travel:
Chicago & suburbs, plus large-loss and storm events
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Lead and manage restoration projects from start to finish — extraction, demo, containment, and remediation Train, coach, and motivate technicians; operate and train others on power tools, drying equipment, and restoration machinery Inventory and load the work vehicle; prepare rooms and set up the staging area and equipment for each project Perform production processes per Restore It Chicago guidelines and the work order, and direct technicians in the same Communicate with customers, insurance representatives, technicians, and the office Fill out and complete the photo documentation checklist on every job Fill out equipment logs and notes sheets and record moisture readings daily Document work in Restore It Chicago's digital job management systems and mobile apps Perform and verify work against the photo, demolition, and containment reports Obtain a signed certificate of completion from the customer at the close of every job Perform end-of-day and end-of-job cleanup and breakdown; leave job sites clean and orderly Clean and maintain vehicles, equipment, warehouse, and office areas; support the Production Manager and other production personnel as needed Follow safety and risk management guidelines on the job site, in the office, and while traveling Be on-call one week per month on a rotating schedule, and travel for large-loss and storm events
QUALIFICATIONS
Restoration experience: 1 year (preferred) Valid Driver's License (required) High school diploma / GED Effective oral communication IICRC certifications preferred, not required Ability to travel locally and out of state as necessary Ability to successfully complete a background check and pre-employment drug screening, subject to applicable law General experience with tools and some construction knowledge preferred
PHYSICAL & WORK ENVIRONMENT
Regularly lift 50 lbs, and up to 100 lbs with assistance Walking and standing for long periods, driving, sitting, climbing Climb ladders and work at ceiling heights Work in tight spaces such as crawlspaces under buildings Repetitive pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying of objects
