Job Description
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Field Technician to join our team in Pikeville, United States. As a Field Technician, you will work both independently and collaboratively with our team to ensure accurate data collection, equipment maintenance, and compliance with all safety standards. Position is on-call in Pikeville, KY. Shifts vary from days, afternoons, nights and weekends and you can be out in the field for up to 12 hours at a time. Collect samples and conduct observations of products, raw materials, and equipment at various field locationsEnsure all sample containers and related documentation are accurately labeled with identifying data, location, date, and time of collectionTransport samples to the designated location for analysis while maintaining proper handling proceduresGather samples at specified locations and processing states at designated time intervalsOperate and maintain field equipment, tools, and instruments with care and precisionOrganize, clean, and inspect all equipment and containers before and after useWear and ensure proper use of all required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all timesMaintain detailed and accurate records of all field activities, observations, and test resultsAdhere to all local, state, and federal safety processes, procedures, and regulationsCommunicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding field findings and any issues encounteredSupport other team members and contribute to a collaborative, safety-focused work environmentPerform additional duties as assigned to meet business needsQualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or equivalent requiredNo prior field experience required; we welcome entry-level candidates with a willingness to learnDemonstrated ability to follow instructions and complete tasks accurately and on time
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Valid driver's license requiredMSHA 24-hour surface Mine Safety and Health Administration certificate may be required; training is available through our organization
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Intermediate English language skills required (Advanced preferred)Basic mathematical skills required (Intermediate preferred)Intermediate problem-solving and reasoning abilities with a logical, practical approachStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to read, interpret, and follow technical documents, safety rules, and procedure manualsEffective written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and under moderate supervisionTeam player mentality with a genuine focus on customer care and servicePhysical stamina and capability to work in various weather conditions and outdoor environmentsReliability, punctuality, and commitment to safety complianceAbility to operate hand tools and basic field equipmentWillingness to learn new equipment and proceduresFlexibility and adaptability to changing work assignments and schedules (on call).
