Field Service Technician Job Description This role involves working typically from Monday to Friday, 2pm to 10pm, with potential weekend shifts as needed, which will be communicated in advance. The position requires training directly with the manager for approximately two weeks to ensure readiness for independent work. It is essential for the worker to be mechanically inclined and capable of troubleshooting. All necessary tools will be provided. Responsibilities include testing water, monitoring sludge collection, and checking temperature and humidity in a painting facility, primarily involving polymer chemicals. Personal protective equipment required includes composite or steel toe boots above the ankle, and safety glasses will be provided. Responsibilities Travel to customer locations across designated metro areas to perform service work. Provide accurate and timely documentation, including monthly expense reports, daily service call reports, weekly tracking, and route completion reports. Maintain detailed records of all service visits, noting technical issues and parts used. Prioritize workload with manager to ensure an efficient, cost-effective preventative maintenance schedule. Independently execute lock installation projects as assigned. Troubleshoot and resolve technical and customer issues with effective problem-solving skills. Respond to emergency service calls as directed, which may occasionally occur nights, weekends, or holidays. Build and maintain strong relationships with customer personnel, representing the company in a professional manner. Provide customer training on our products as needed. Assist in other locations as required, based on business needs. Essential Skills Technical aptitude in plumbing, electrical, mechanical, cellular/Bluetooth devices. Strong organizational and time management skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Self-motivated, able to work independently, and driven to deliver results. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. 0-2 years experience required.
