Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Perform duties as directed concerning the contractual obligations for installation, start-up services, and operation instruction, on all equipment represented by the company. Report the results of work performed, problems encountered, and customer dissatisfaction in the form of prompt written service reports to the Service Manager and Sales Engineer. Make recommendations and corresponding reports to the supervisor for product improvements that effect operation and reliability of our products. Maintain good relationships with customers and customer employees, resolve equipment problems and recommend corrective action and troubleshooting approaches. Assist in training other Stiles personnel such as other Field Service Representatives, and the customer in the use, operation, adjustments and proper maintenance procedures for our equipment. Maintain demonstration equipment and ensure proper operation. Assist in customer presentation and demonstration as requested by the Regional Service Manager. Learn the latest installation/maintenance procedures and techniques while assisting vendor technicians and other installers and submit report for review by other Field Service Representatives. Must have a High School diploma or foreign equivalent, and 7 years of experience in the following specific areas: Installing, maintaining, and providing preventative service of Homag CNC woodworking machinery (electrical, mechanical, pneumatic); Reading electrical schematics and diagnostic tools; and Reading mechanical prints and layout drawings. Must also have 5 years of experience in the following specific skills: Homag (manufacture specific) CNC panel processing equipment work cells with cut band bore capability; Commissioning of panel processing equipment lines in the panel processing industry; and Machine hardware and communication protocol setup such as Ethercat, Profinet, CanBus, Siemens Starter, or Rexroth TwinCat (Homag specific). Must also have 4 years of experience in the following specific skills: Codesys; and WoodWop drawing software. In addition to the skills above, must have a valid driver's license without restrictions. Will travel up to 90% of the time—domestically and internationally, by air or automobile—to Stiles Machinery customer sites to perform installations, repairs, and preventive maintenance. This position requires travel among multiple sites to any state in the US. Company reimburses for meals, hotel costs, and gas. Additionally, the company provides an auto allowance of $550 per month and is reimbursed for routine maintenance and tires.
