DESCRIPTION
: Oxbow Machine Products is a Tier 1 supplier for multiple automotive manufactures. We specialize in lift assists & secure tooling for different automotive assembly plants. The primary role of a field service technician will be to travel to different assembly plants, meet with the customer and work with different trades to make sure our fixtures are installed correctly. You will be provided a lineup & station layout from your project manager, from there you will be responsible for making sure tools being installed correctly. The plant trades will be in most assembly plants to assist with the work, the field service technician will be there to supervise the installs. Installation time can vary from 1-2 days to multiple weeks in assembly plants. In the scenario where tooling is not being installed, the field service tech will be stationed at our headquarters (Livonia Michigan) and work with our shop foreman and assist with assembling fixtures.
RESPONSIBILITIES
: Tune-in and adjust fixtures to different products/vehicles Fill out detailed logs and report to customers/management Must attend meetings with customer and report back progress to management Various tasks as directed
REQUIREMENTS
: Be willing to engage with customers in a friendly manner Have mechanical knowledge and willing to work with their hands Knowledge of tooling material characteristics Willing to work holidays, weekends, and night shift (if required) Able to perform all essential job functions with or without a reasonable accommodation Must have a valid drivers license Must be willing to travel out of the state or country as directed Must have all their own tools common to trade practice
