Job Description:
Field Service Technician As a Field Service Technician , you'll play a critical role in connecting our customers to the services they rely on every day, from high-speed internet and video services to phone connectivity. Daily Responsibilities Include:
Installing, upgrading, reconnecting, disconnecting, and modifying internet, video, and phone services Installing and relocating outlets, converters, modems, and customer equipment Running interior and exterior wiring Diagnosing signal, picture quality, and connectivity issues Troubleshooting from the customer device all the way to the network tap Repairing and replacing network components and coaxial cable Performing speed tests, ping tests, trace routes, and network diagnostics Training customers on the proper use of equipment and services Ensuring compliance with FCC, NESC, OSHA, and WOW! standards Maintaining company vehicles, tools, and equipment Completing work orders and documentation accurately Delivering outstanding customer service at every interaction What You'll Need High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver's license with a good driving record Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to explain technical information to non-technical customers Ability to operate handheld technology and field service applications Ability to read maps and navigate service areas Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed Technical Skills Experience using testing equipment such as: Signal Level Meters (SLM) Volt-OHM Meters Ability to maintain accurate records, work orders, and service documentation Physical Requirements This position is active, hands-on, and performed in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments.
Candidates must be able to:
Work outdoors in all weather conditions Lift and carry up to 90 pounds Carry and safely operate extension ladders (up to approximately 28 feet and 75 pounds) Work at heights, including rooftops and utility poles Work in confined spaces such as attics and crawl spaces Bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, push, pull, and grasp regularly Distinguish between wire colors and sizes Safely operate company vehicles and work near electrical equipment and power lines Ready to Build Your Career with WOW?
