Job Description

Field Service Technician 695 Lincoln Lake Avenue SE, Lowell, MI 49331 $25.40 - $40.00 an hour - Temporary, Part-time, Full-time, Internship $25.40 - $40.00 an hour - Temporary, Part-time, Full-time, Internship RS Technical Services, Inc. seeks to hire a chemical feed equipment & instrumentation field service technician -- preferably for full time work (40 hours per week), though we are open to part time help. Mechanical/Electrical experience is desired, but not necessary so long as you are able to learn on the job. A valid drivers license is needed to do this job. The job includes field and shop service of chemical feed equipment such as pumps, chlorine & sulfur dioxide gas systems, scales, and related gas, flow, pressure, level and temperature sensors/instrumentation. Typical equipment installations include Wallace & Tiernan or Hydro Instruments chlorinators, leak detectors and analyzers, Blue-White chemical metering pumps, and Force Flow scales. Field work is typically done on customer job sites which are mostly water or wastewater treatment plants and some industrial sites around the State of Michigan. You will need to carry and use personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, steel toe boots, hard hat, high visibility vest, and gas mask. Initially, you will shadow another RSTS technician while you train to do the job. Once trained some of your field work will be done with other RSTS staff members while other field work will be completed solo. This job involves travel around the state and you may expect to spend up to 5 nights per month in a hotel out of town. About once per year you may be required to attend factory training out of state. The company covers your travel, hotel and meal expenses for these work trips. The job involves some service work to be completed at RSTS' shop in Lowell as well. A combination of mechanical, electrical, computer and communication skills are needed to do this job well. RSTS provides on-the-job and factory/classroom training to help employees succeed on the job. The company supplies its field service technicians with a company vehicle along with any specialty tools needed to do the job. The company pays for its service vehicle costs including maintenance, insurance and gas. Employees are expected to bring their own hand tools including a multi-meter, though the company will provide a one-time bonus to new hires to help cover the cost of new tools you may need. RSTS provides full time staff members with health insurance with HSA, 3% match into an IRA for retirement savings, paid vacation time off based on years of seniority, 5 paid personal/sick days per year, and a cell phone stipend.
