Vacancy No VN802 Employment Type Full-Time Shift Duration (if temporary) Location Country United States Location State Location City Three Rivers Description The Field Service Technician is a full-time position within Armstrong International's Thermal Insight Group, with a primary focus on steam trap management to support customer efforts toward decarbonization and energy efficiency. This role is responsible for performing steam trap surveys at customer facilities across the United States, collecting and analyzing thermal system data, and supporting the delivery of actionable insights for system optimization. The technician will work closely with the existing Thermal Insight Group team to support ongoing program development and execution. This position requires frequent domestic travel, strong technical aptitude, and the ability to work independently in industrial environments while representing Armstrong's commitment to quality, safety, and sustainability. Key Responsibilities Coordinate and conduct steam trap surveys and radio frequency data collection at customer sites. Analyze and document findings from surveys; prepare and submit detailed technical reports. Commission and provide end-user training on steam quality monitoring equipment. Install, configure, and troubleshoot wireless monitoring systems, including customer support and training. Assist in laboratory testing and validation of thermal energy equipment and monitoring technologies. Support additional service or technical activities as assigned by the Thermal Insight Group leadership. Travel extensively within the United States (up to 50%), including potential weekend travel, based on project needs. Willingness to learn or train in the position. Must have the physical and mental stamina to stand, walk, lift, and adjust to the noise and lighting of the manufacturing environment. Other duties as assigned and not limited to just the above. Key Requirements Knowledge of the steam system is a plus. A positive attitude and proactive engagement. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, and handle and prioritize simultaneous requests. Must demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to provide customer service. Book most of the travel by yourself and manage expenses wisely to stay on budget. Microsoft Office basic knowledge including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Multilingual is a plus.
