Job Description

Field Service Technician Full-Time; On-site/Travel; Mon-Fri 8am-5pm, overtime as needed (some evenings/weekends) Celebrating 50 years of service, Environmental Dynamics International (EDI) specializes in developing and applying advanced technology aeration and biological treatment solutions for municipal and industrial wastewater. EDI is a full-service organization positively impacting the environment by providing engineering design, proprietary manufacturing, and equipment installation and maintenance of treatment solutions with demonstrated success in more than 8,000 installations in over 100 countries worldwide. EDI is part of Axius Water (axiuswater.com), a growing group of companies founded in 2019 by KKR's Global Impact Fund, in partnership with XPV Water Partners. Axius Water is the global leader in advanced nutrient removal solutions for municipal and industrial wastewater, as well as potable and process water treatment. Job summary The Service Technician reports to the Field Operations Crew Supervisor and supports both office-based and field-based service activities. This position requires a blend of computer/administrative work and travel to customer sites. The primary role for the Service Technician is to travel to wastewater treatment facilities to perform inspections, document findings, and provide training and other various forms of customer service. In addition, the technician will handle customer inquiries, troubleshoot concerns, and assist with service coordination using Microsoft Office and company-specific systems such as Epicor (CRM). Starting pay range is$22-$25 per hour, with potential overtime during travel periods. Schedule The schedule varies based on seasonal workload and customer demand but generally follows a Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm workweek. Weekend travel is occasional but not frequently required. This position offers paid travel time, paid travel expenses, and per diem when traveling overnight. Overnight travel averages 75% but varies by season, workload, and project requirements. Essential Duties and REsponsibilities Provide technical support via phone and email related to inspections, troubleshooting, and equipment training. Inspect wastewater treatment aeration equipment using company-supplied tools. Deliver video-based and in-person equipment training to customers. Create and provide applicable documentation as required by customers. Maintain and update the service schedule. Provide service reports for internal and external use. Document all service activities thoroughly and accurately. Manage travel and job-related expenses in accordance with company policy. Identify and suggest process improvements for continuous operational enhancement. Follow all company policies and maintain safety as the top priority. Maintain excellent attendance and reliability. Other duties as assigned. Skills and experience High school diploma or GED. Effective verbal and written communication skills, with strong customer service orientation. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings. Strong attention to detail with solid analytical and decision‑making skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Employee must maintain valid government‑issued identification and an unrestricted driver's license that meet airline TSA requirements and rental car agency requirements in all U.S. states. This includes the ability to successfully rent vehicles, purchase airline tickets, and complete travel using standard commercial carriers. Two (2) years of experience in wastewater, construction, or a related customer service field. OSHA 10 and Confined Space certifications, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire. High‑speed internet connection.
PHYSICAL/WORK REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, be able to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs or ladders up to 40 feet; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit, to perform routine tasks including walking on uneven surfaces at construction sites. Basic usage of computer, phone and in person communications. Able to lift up to 75 pounds. MENTAL ENVIRONMENT
This employee can work under extreme deadlines, can manage time, and can multitask quickly. They have a high level of organization. The employee has strong fluency written and spoken English. Must be able to use a computer to complete tasks with a high level of organization.
