Job Description

Field Service Technician Industrial Machinery | Automation | Customer Support Join a respected industry leader with over 36 years of success representing premier machine manufacturers from Germany. If you're a hands-on technician who enjoys troubleshooting complex machinery, working directly with customers, and balancing field service with technical support responsibilities, we'd like to talk with you. What You'll Do As a Field Service Technician , you will troubleshoot, repair, commission, and maintain sophisticated foam molding equipment at customer facilities throughout North America and occasionally internationally. You will also play a critical role in supporting customers remotely from our office through technical troubleshooting, service coordination, and parts support.
This position consists of approximately:
40% travel supporting customers in the field 60% office-based work providing technical support, documentation, diagnostics, and customer assistance Please note: The office portion of this role is a core responsibility and not an occasional assignment. Successful candidates must be engaged and productive in both environments. Primary Responsibilities Field Service Install, commission, and start up new equipment. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Diagnose machine performance issues and determine root causes. Perform preventative maintenance and equipment inspections. Verify proper operation through testing and performance validation. Train customer personnel on equipment setup, operation, maintenance, and repair. Complete service documentation and detailed field reports. Technical Support & Office Responsibilities Provide telephone and remote troubleshooting support to customers. Work directly with customers to diagnose equipment issues and recommend solutions. Coordinate with equipment manufacturers and vendors to obtain technical support and diagnostic information. Process warranty claims and document warranty-related concerns. Order and coordinate replacement parts. Complete work orders, service reports, and customer correspondence. Identify opportunities for aftermarket parts sales, retrofits, upgrades, and service offerings. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Valid Driver's License. Previous Field Service Technician, Maintenance Technician, Industrial Maintenance, or related technical experience. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to travel domestically on a regular basis and internationally when required. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Technical Qualifications Candidates should be able to: Read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical schematics. Read and understand operator and parts manuals. Inspect equipment and identify faults and malfunctions. Master machine operating and control functions. Utilize electrical and mechanical testing equipment. Troubleshoot and repair machinery effectively. Diagnose root causes and implement corrective actions. Submit detailed service reports and document machine performance. Create clear punch lists and follow-up action plans. Preferred Experience Industrial machinery troubleshooting. PLC-based equipment troubleshooting (Siemens experience is highly desirable). Electrical controls and automation systems. Hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Customer training and technical instruction. Microsoft Excel, Word, Acrobat, and Windows-based software systems.
