Part-Time, Non-Exempt Position Summary The Mitigation Technician provides emergency mitigation services for residential and commercial properties affected by water, fire, mold, storm, sewage, and other property losses. This role is responsible for stabilizing structures, preventing secondary damage, and preparing properties for restoration while delivering exceptional customer service. Essential Responsibilities Respond to emergency service calls, including after-hours and on-call assignments.
Water Damage Mitigation:
Perform water extraction, structural drying, moisture mapping, equipment setup, and monitoring.
Fire, Smoke & Environmental Mitigation:
Complete smoke and soot cleanup, odor control, and debris removal.
Controlled Demolition:
Safely remove damaged drywall, flooring, insulation, cabinetry, and other building materials while protecting salvageable property and preparing for reconstruction.
Mold Remediation:
Construct containment areas, operate HEPA filtration equipment, perform antimicrobial treatments, and complete remediation activities.
Documentation:
Accurately document job progress through photographs, moisture readings, equipment logs, work notes, and customer communication using company software. Pack, inventory, manipulate, and protect customer contents as needed. Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites while following company safety requirements. Operate and maintain company vehicles, restoration equipment, and tools in a safe and professional manner. Communicate effectively with customers, project managers, insurance representatives, and team members throughout each project. Qualifications Required High School Diploma or GED. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding work. Strong work ethic, dependability, and customer service skills. Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations. Preferred Experience in restoration, construction, mitigation, or a related field. IICRC certifications (WRT, ASD, AMRT, FSRT) or willingness to obtain certification. Experience with restoration software such as Encircle, DASH, Xactimate, or similar platforms. Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, climbing, lifting, bending, kneeling, and working in confined spaces or environments affected by water, smoke, mold, sewage, and debris. Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required at all times.
