Lead Motor Rewind Technician -- 1st shift -- Up to $40 per hour The Lead Motor Rewind Technician leads field and shop operations focused on rewinding and repairing AC/DC motors and related electro-mechanical equipment while ensuring safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. This role combines hands-on technical work in motor rewind and diagnostics with leadership of field service technicians, oversight of industrial equipment service projects, and continuous improvement of processes and standards. Responsibilities Follow all safety policies and procedures at all times to maintain a safe work environment in both shop and field settings. Complete all required quality assurance procedures for each repair job, ensuring motors and equipment meet performance and safety standards after service. Assist in and lead rewinding of AC/DC motors, coils, armatures, stators, and other electro-mechanical components, including removing, forming, and installing stator and rotor windings. Operate specialized equipment for stripping, winding, and testing as trained, ensuring proper setup, operation, and care of tools and test instruments. Adhere to company policies, procedures, and standards in all work performed, including documentation, safety, and quality processes. Participate in and support continued training programs to maintain and enhance technical and professional skills. Build, lead, and manage a team of field service technicians, providing day-to-day guidance, on-the-job training, and ongoing support. Schedule and allocate tasks to team members based on skill sets, workload, and project requirements to ensure efficient use of resources. Conduct performance evaluations for field service technicians and provide constructive feedback to support growth and accountability. Oversee the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of customers' industrial equipment, including motors and related systems. Essential Skills Minimum 5+ years of experience as a field service technician or in industrial maintenance, working with industrial equipment and systems. At least 2+ years in a leadership role, managing or leading technicians or maintenance teams. Minimum 2+ years of technical knowledge and hands-on experience with industrial equipment and systems. Strong understanding of AC and DC motors, including single-phase and three-phase operation and electric motor fundamentals. Demonstrated experience with motor rewind techniques, including removing, forming, and installing stator and rotor windings. Additional Skills & Qualifications Leadership experience beyond the minimum requirements, including mentoring and developing technicians. Two-year degree in electromechanical technology or a related technical field. Certification in Project Management (such as PMP) or a related project management credential. Why Work Here? Work Environment You work in a clean mechanical shop environment with a team of about eight people in the shop and approximately fourteen team members at the local location. Each employee has their own work area or bench, providing an organized and focused space to perform detailed mechanical and electrical work. The role involves both shop and field work, supporting many of the same industrial clients as partner service providers, and may require working indoors and outdoors in a variety of climates and conditions inside manufacturing facilities. Typical hours are approximately 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with some flexibility to adjust between schedules such as 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., depending on workload and customer needs. The position reports into operations leadership and operates within a structured yet collaborative environment. The dress code includes steel-toed boots, jeans, and a T-shirt, suitable for hands-on mechanical and electrical work in industrial and shop settings Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, NE.
