Job Description

+ Job Title and Overview We are seeking a skilled Waste & Recycling Equipment Service Technician to inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain waste handling and recycling equipment. This role involves servicing compactors, balers, conveyors, roll-off equipment, hydraulic systems, and other industrial waste-processing machinery at customer sites and shop facilities. + Essential Job Functions Diagnose and repair waste and recycling equipment including compactors, balers, conveyors, shredders, and roll-off systems Perform preventative maintenance inspections and scheduled service repairs Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical system issues Replace hoses, cylinders, motors, bearings, switches, pumps, and structural components Perform welding and fabrication repairs when necessary Read service manuals, schematics, blueprints, and work orders Install and commission new waste and recycling equipment Respond to emergency service calls and equipment breakdowns Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and parts documentation Operate service vehicles, forklifts, and diagnostic equipment safely Communicate professionally with customers regarding repairs and maintenance recommendations Follow OSHA safety standards and company safety procedures +• Education and Experience• Technical school or mechanical certification preferred 2+ years of industrial maintenance or heavy equipment repair experience preferred Knowledge/Familiarity with compactors, balers, conveyors, and hydraulic and electrical systems Experience servicing waste, recycling, or heavy industrial equipment Ability to read electrical schematics and hydraulic diagrams Welding and fabrication experience preferred Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment independently Strong problem-solving and communication skills Mobile field service experience Basic computer and service reporting skills Valid driver's license/Medical Card required; CDL is a plus Ability to lift 50-75 lbs regularly Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work in industrial environments Comfortable working around sparks, noise, dust, and heavy machinery Ability to work overtime when required
Pay:
$30.00 - $35.00 per hour
