Performance-based raises after 90 days. Laid out performance based roadmap. Paid overtime.
Schedule:

Location:

Type:
Full-time, in-person. About Us Fitness Machine Technicians is a national franchise exercise equipment repair brand in the U.S. We service residential and commercial customers — diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, and strength equipment from every major brand. Our reputation is built on prompt, professional, accurate service, and we hire technicians who take pride in doing the job right the first time. What You'll Actually Do You'll drive a company vehicle to residential and commercial customers across our NJ service area. A typical day is 4-5 stops: some preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and or repairs. You'll talk directly with customers, explain what failed in plain language, complete the work, document it in our service software on a phone or laptop, and move to the next stop. The route is yours, it is set by the office coordinator, generally 2-5 days in advance. You're trusted to manage it. There are some services we provide where multiple technicians are needed to complete the job, this is set up by the office coordinator. Equipment You'll Work On Major brands include but not limited to: Precor, Life Fitness, Matrix, Technogym, Star Trac, Stairmaster, NordicTrack, and others.
Types of equipment are:
treadmills, ellipticals, exercise bikes, rowers, strength training machines, and functional trainers. Who We're Looking For This role is a fit if you: Have a real mechanical background. You've taken things apart and put them back together — cars, motorcycles, appliances, HVAC, small engines, bikes, anything with moving parts and a circuit board. You can read a wiring diagram. When something doesn't work, your instinct is to figure out why, not just throw parts at it. Are reliable. Show up every day, on time. Customers and teammates are counting on it. Attendance is one of the things we review most closely during the first 90 days. Communicate well. Customers will ask you questions. You'll need to explain what failed and what you're doing about it without making them feel uninformed. Work clean and organized. Your technician vehicle is your shop. Tools accounted for, parts inventoried, vehicle clean. Are physically capable. Comfortable lifting up to 50lbs occasionally, and on your feet most of the day. Required Qualifications 1+ year hands-on mechanical/electrical work — automotive technician, appliance repair, HVAC, small engine, bike mechanic, military mechanical role, or similar. Comfortable with continuity testing, reading schematics, isolating intermittent faults, and basic diagnostic reasoning. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record sufficient to operate a company vehicle. Comfortable using a smartphone or laptop for scheduling, documentation, and reports. High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred Qualifications Prior fitness equipment repair experience (we'll train if not). ASE certifications, electronics certifications, or similar trade credentials. Customer service experience What You Get $22

Clear path to senior tech roles A Few Things to Know Before You Apply We want to be upfront about the realities of the job so you can decide if it's the right fit: Days are scheduled at 8 hours, but a complex repair occasionally runs longer. We finish what we start — we don't leave a customer with half a treadmill on their living room floor. Attendance is reviewed closely during the 90-day probationary period and throughout employment. This is a primary, full-time role. The schedule isn't compatible with a second full-time commitment. We require 2-3 work references before extending an offer.
