Field Service Technician - Industrial Machinery NJ Tool Repair | New Jersey (Travel Required) $35-$40/hr | W2 | Full-Time About Us NJ Tool Repair is a controls integration and industrial machinery service company specializing in wire and cable manufacturing equipment, armoring lines, and automated production systems. We work directly with manufacturers across the country to keep critical equipment running. What You'll Do Travel to customer facilities to diagnose, repair, and return industrial machinery to service. You'll work independently on-site with minimal supervision, interfacing directly with plant personnel and reporting back to our team. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems Work on 3-phase power distribution and 24/120V control circuits Commission and configure variable frequency drives (VFDs) Perform planned maintenance and emergency breakdown response Document findings and communicate status clearly to customers and internal team Air travel required approximately 6-8 times per year. Drive-to sites will be more frequent. Required Demonstrated experience troubleshooting 3-phase and control voltage systems Working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics Comfortable reading electrical schematics and mechanical drawings Own basic hand tools Valid driver's license Preferred VFD setup and parameter configuration PLC fault diagnosis (reading status, navigating programs — full programming not required) Experience in wire/cable, metals, or heavy industrial manufacturing Experience in sheet metal machinery Compensation & Details $35-$40/hr depending on experience W2 employment
