April 17, 2026 : Job Summary Join our team in Leetsdale, Pennsylvania, a vibrant community known for its rich history and close-knit neighborhoods. The Field Service Technician performs tasks related to mechanical and electrical assemblies and sub-assemblies. This role involves repairing, building, and preparing industrial machinery at customer facilities and our Leetsdale location. The position requires mechanical aptitude, computer skills, and attention to detail. It also involves physical movement and the use of material handling equipment. You will report to the Service Manager. Responsibilities Assemble equipment according to engineering drawings, schematics, and company standards based on warranty or repair orders and production schedules. Utilize hand, electric, and pneumatic tools for assembly tasks. Review warranty and repair orders using the ERP system to prioritize tasks. Communicate progress and issues professionally through verbal and written means. Estimate repair costs and assist in other assembly needs as required. After approximately six months of training, perform on-site visits to customer facilities for system maintenance, averaging two weeks per month of travel. Coordinate travel arrangements with guidance from the Service Manager, with travel expenses reimbursed weekly. When not traveling, work from the client Leetsdale facility. Skills Required Effective communication and professional presentation skills. Strong organizational, planning, and time-management skills. Data entry skills and ability to maintain accurate records. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Positive team member with a strong work ethic and good interpersonal skills. Qualifications and Work Experience High School Diploma or GED; a specialized associate's degree is a plus. 1-3 years of related mechanical and/or electrical assembly work experience desired. Moderate knowledge of general manufacturing with good mechanical aptitude. Basic math skills and the ability to understand verbal and written instructions and guidelines. Position Milestones Having a competent and reliable technician is critical. Completion of milestones may result in a salary increase, while failure to meet timelines may result in disciplinary action. 90Days:
Mechanical:
Understand knife fixture use, knife setting and installation, motor installation, belt tensioning, and wiring.Electrical:
Understand the safety circuit, set safety relays, and understand motor overload settings. 6Months:
Understand rotor assemblies, disassembly, and bearing replacement. Operate control panels on various machines and become familiar with traveling and customer expectations. Estimate repair costs and understand Jeeves functions. After 6Months:
Schedule time and travel independently, visiting customer sites twice a month. Become familiar with the entire series of client's products. Physical and Mental Requirements This role can be physically demanding and requires the ability to perform tasks in various conditions. Responsibilities may include extended driving, standing for long durations, applying heavy torque, and handling heavy, sharp knives and other components. The position may also require working in awkward or confined positions. Travel may account for approximately 50% of the role, with much work performed independently. Occasionally (1% to 20% of the time): Lift objects up to 50 lbs. Carry objects up to 30 lbs. Sit in a normal seated position. Climb stairs, ramps, ladders, etc. Frequently (21% to 50% of the time): Walk around the facility. Stoop/crouch by bending legs or bending down/forward at the waist. Extend hands/arms. Add, subtract, multiply, divide, and record, balance, and check results for accuracy. Constantly (at least 51% of the time): Stand for extended periods. Understand, remember, and apply oral and written instructions or information. Understand and follow basic instructions. Translate thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology.
