Job Title:
Field Service Technician Job Description As a Field Service Technician, you will be on the road daily, traveling to various sites, ranging from 10 minutes to 2 hours away. Once you become acquainted with the role, approximately 75% of your travel will require overnight stays, with some potential plane travel to out-of-state locations. You can expect occasional weekend work, compensated at an enhanced rate, with potential overtime required about 5% of the time. The ideal candidate is a curious, mechanically minded problem-solver who enjoys diagnosing issues and working hands-on. Strong communication skills are essential to confidently interact with customers, explain findings, and build trust. We are looking for reliable professionals with a high sense of ownership, accountability, and follow-through. You should thrive in autonomy, be comfortable working independently, traveling, and managing your own schedule. Responsibilities Travel 75% of the time within a 8-hour radius of location in PA, with potential for out-of-state travel by plane. Perform clean room certifications for compounding pharmacies, hospital ORs, medical device manufacturers, and pharmaceutical manufacturers. Scan HEPA filters, conduct particle counting, and measure pressure, temperature, and humidity in clean rooms. Document findings and customer interactions in Excel reports. Repair and maintain equipment, including filling holes in filters, changing filters, and replacing blower motors. Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems when tests fail. Manage customer relationships with professionalism and precision. Operate service software, tablets, reporting tools, and measurement instruments. Calibration of equipment Essential Skills Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and presentation skills. Ability to travel and manage a flexible schedule. Basic math skills. Electro-mechanical skills for troubleshooting systems. Valid driver's license. Additional Skills & Qualifications Degree from a 2-year technical college or fresh out of a 4-year program preferred. Technical aptitude in mechanical/electrical systems. Clean room certification experience. Work Environment You will be traveling to various customer sites, including clean rooms, and working on equipment such as fume hoods, biosafety cabinets, medical HVAC systems, laminar flows, and autoclaves. The role involves hands-on, technical work in dynamic environments. Expect to start between 7-8 am, depending on customer needs, and be adaptable to changing schedules. After three months, a company vehicle will be provided.
