Job Description
MCA, your trusted advisor for wireless communications, data, and security, is seeking an experienced Advanced Security Technician in the North Charleston, SC area to support our fast-growing Security division. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Installing and servicing physical security systems/platforms, including CCTV, access control systems, intrusion detection, communications, and many other low-voltage systems. Diagnosing and troubleshooting system issues. Training/mentoring others within the team. Working as a valued team member on projects/installations to deliver quality results to our customers. Maintaining awareness of new and emerging technologies and their potential application on client engagements. Working with trades and subcontractors assigned to projects. Serving as a lead tech on smaller projects/installations.
Respond to routine, scheduled, emergency, and after-hours service calls in a timely mannerDiagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and replace defective components in security systemsPerform preventive maintenance on installed systems and ensure optimal performanceUtilize strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve equipment and software issuesAnalyze repair needs and provide effective solutions to customersComplete accurate and detailed service reports for proper invoicing and job tracking by the end of each dayEnsure all work complies with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company safety policiesConduct system testing and checkout for new and existing installationsCollaborate with team members to improve service operations and customer satisfactionPerform additional duties as assignedInstall and support small or less complex security system projects as needed
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TEAM
3-5 years relevant experience.
Certifications in brands like Lenel, S2, AMAG, Genetec, Avigilon, Bosch, DMP, Honeywell, or similar.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple service callsGood communication and customer service skills
YOUR ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical environment requires the employee to work inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear; utilize personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to potentially hazardous materials, lift (overhead, waist level) from the floor, bending, frequently utilize near vision use for reading and computer use; be able to handle semi-frequent stressful conditions (cardiovascular), frequently work in outdoor weather conditions, frequently move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally ascend/descend a ladder, operate a motor vehicle, frequently position self to maintain computers or other equipment as needed. On-call for critical systems maintenance may be required. First shift hours Monday Friday, with occasional 2nd or 3rd shift and weekends depending on project schedules.
