We are looking for a Service & Maintenance Technician who enjoys working independently, solving problems, and providing an outstanding customer experience. Position Summary The Service & Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on residential and light commercial standby generators. This role operates from a home-based dispatch model, traveling directly to customer locations throughout the Chattanooga market. Successful candidates are self-motivated, mechanically inclined, organized, and comfortable working independently while representing the company in customers' homes and businesses.

Service Manager What You'll Do Preventive Maintenance Perform annual and semi-annual generator maintenance visits Complete inspections, oil changes, filter replacements, battery testing, and operational checks Identify potential issues before they become service failures Document maintenance findings and recommendations Service & Repair Diagnose electrical, mechanical, fuel, and control system issues Troubleshoot generator failures and performance concerns Complete repairs on residential and light commercial standby generators Test the equipment after repairs to ensure proper operation Customer Experience Communicate professionally with customers before, during, and after service visits Explain findings and repair recommendations in a clear, customer-friendly manner Represent the company with professionalism and integrity Maintain strong customer relationships and deliver a best-in-class service experience Administrative Responsibilities Accurately complete service tickets, inspection reports, and required documentation in Service Titan Utilize company software and mobile applications to manage work orders Maintain inventory levels and vehicle stock Coordinate with dispatch and management regarding scheduling, parts needs, and customer follow-up What We're Looking For Required Qualifications 2+ years of experience in generator service, electrical work, mechanical repair, HVAC, diesel, automotive, or related technical field. Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Comfortable using tablets, smartphones, and service software. Ability to lift 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Preferred Qualifications Experience servicing Generac, Kohler, Cummins, Briggs & Stratton, or similar generator systems. Electrical troubleshooting experience. Generac certification or willingness to obtain certification. Residential service experience and strong customer service skills. Work Environment Home-based dispatch model with a company vehicle provided. Daily travel throughout the Chattanooga and surrounding service area. Outdoor work environments. Occasional after-hours or emergency service support may be required. What Success Looks Like Consistently completes scheduled maintenance visits on time. Diagnoses and repairs equipment efficiently and accurately. Maintains high customer satisfaction ratings. Keeps service documentation accurate and up to date. Operates safely and follows all company safety standards.
