Role Description The Field Service Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in the Austin, Texas Metropolitan Area. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing semiconductor lithography laser systems at customer facilities, following established procedures and safety standards. Day-to-day tasks include performing diagnostics, troubleshooting equipment issues, replacing components, and conducting preventive maintenance to ensure optimal system performance and uptime. The technician will document service activities, prepare reports, and communicate technical status and recommendations to customers and internal teams. The role also involves participating in training programs, applying mentoring feedback, and continuously improving technical and professional skills to support high-quality customer service. Qualifications Technical aptitude in electronics, mechanics, or laser systems; ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals. Experience with field service work, equipment troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance, preferably in semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing environments. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and capability to follow structured procedures while maintaining safety and quality standards. Effective communication skills for interacting with customers and internal teams; clear documentation and reporting of service activities. Demonstrated work ethic, discipline, and willingness to learn; openness to training, mentoring, and skill development in advanced laser technologies. Ability to work on-site in customer facilities, including standing, lifting, and working with tools and equipment as required. Associate degree or technical certification in electronics, engineering technology, mechanics, or a related field is preferred; relevant military or industrial experience is also valued. Availability for occasional travel, shift work, or on-call support as required by customer needs.
