Job Description

Job Description Overview The Utility Technician II are responsible for the maintenance and operation of the water distribution system and wastewater collection system. Employees must remain in compliance with TCEQ and other applicable laws and regulations while working within the scope of their position. Responsibilities
    Construction & Repair:
    Install, repair, and maintain water mains, valves, and fire hydrants
    • Repaid and maintain wastewater gravity and force mains, manholes, and services
    • Operate excavator crew truck, dump truck, crane, tapping machines, water pumps and power saws
    • Direct setup of traffic control devices; Set up well point and by-pass pumps
    • Perform confined space work; Ensure work site safety and trench safety practices are followed
    • Log time, material, equipment, and work performed in the Enterprise Asset Management System
    • Provide customer service while performing responsibilities
    • Perform wastewater system maintenance and cleaning
    • Operating a vactor truck
    • Install large volume commercial and residential meters at service connections
    • Install, program, and maintain AMR components
    • Perform water service turn-off and turn-on duties for residential, commercial, and industrial customers
    • Investigate and mitigate issues reported on the water distribution and wastewater collection systems
    • Provide customer service while performing responsibilities
    • May be asked to perform other duties as assigned. Position Type and Typical Hours of Work
    • Non-Exempt - Full-Time
    • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement

    • High School Diploma / GED
    • One (1) year of experience Licenses and Certifications Required
    • A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire Required within six (6) months of hire (One from List Below)
    • TCEQ Class D Water
    • TCEQ Class I Collections
    • TCEQ Class D Distribution Employment Testing Employment is contingent on passing any post-offer pre-employment screening as listed below:
