Summary We are seeking a Restoration Mitigation Technician to join our team at Heritage Restoration Inc. This role is on the front lines of our operation, responding to property damage caused by water, fire, smoke, and mold. The position is based in the United States and is critical to helping homeowners and businesses stabilize and recover from unexpected losses. Responsibilities Respond to emergency calls for water, fire, smoke, and mold damage mitigation in a timely manner. Perform water extraction, structural drying, and dehumidification using industry-standard equipment. Set up and monitor drying equipment including air movers, dehumidifiers, and desiccant systems. Conduct moisture readings and document conditions throughout the drying process. Perform controlled demolition including removal of unsalvageable drywall, flooring, and insulation. Remediate mold-affected materials in accordance with industry guidelines and safety standards. Communicate with homeowners and property managers in a professional and empathetic manner. Document job site conditions through photos, moisture logs, and written notes. Follow safety protocols including proper use of PPE and containment procedures. Maintain and clean mitigation equipment after each use. Requirements Experience in water mitigation, fire restoration, or a related field is preferred. IICRC certifications (WRT, ASD, AMRT) are a plus but not required — we are willing to train the right candidate. Familiarity with moisture detection tools and drying equipment is highly desirable. Ability to work in physically demanding conditions including confined spaces and environments with debris or contaminants. Strong communication skills and a professional, compassionate demeanor when working with clients in stressful situations. Ability to be on-call and respond to after-hours emergency calls as needed. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required. Reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to quality work.
