Job Description

OVERVIEW
Lake Limerick Country Club (LLCC) is a private community in Mason County, Washington. We are seeking an entry level water system trainee under Water Manager supervision to perform various maintenance and operations functions in the support of the Lake Limerick Country Club Water System Utility. The successful candidate will work with limited supervision and perform various tasks in the operation and maintenance of water facilities and equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
This position may be applicable for an apprenticeship to obtain advanced skills and certifications. A two-year commitment will be required to participate in the apprentceship program. This is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and duties to be performed. Trainee may be assigned duties that are not listed below; however, reasonable accommodations will be made as required. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:  Conduct excellent LLCC public relations and interactions with our customers  Monitor the daily operation of the water distribution system  Read and record gauges, dials, and other instrumentation and interpret drawings, maps, and plans  Maintain and update accurate logs of wells and the water distribution system  Check alarms, reservoir water levels, pump operation, meter readings, and soundings  Maintain all water distribution facilities, easements, and grounds, including meters, valves, hydrants, pump houses, well houses, and surrounding areas  Assist in marking water lines for locates that are called for in construction and repair work  Perform customer service activities, turn water service on and off at the customer's residence, respond to customer complaints, and respond accordingly  Perform water meter/DCVA installation, maintenance, and testing  Perform maintenance on water meter boxes; replace, clean, install, and repair meter boxes and lids  Operate fire hydrants to flush the water system and check pressure  Operate, maintain, and perform inspections on assigned equipment, including trucks, trailers, compressors, backhoe, power and hand tools, and other water system-related equipment  Perform installations, maintenance, and repairs of water service lines, main lines, pumps, and valves  Serve as an on-call responder (after hours, weekends, and holidays) as needed/scheduled  Perform manual labor for extended periods of time  Maintain LLCC Water System inventory  Work with customer service software  Perform other duties as required or assigned
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVORONMENT
Work is performed in both an indoor and an outdoor environment. Employee may be required to climb ladders to above 40 feet above ground and/or work in trenches up to 6 feet in depth. Exposure to extreme weather conditions and potentially dangerous machinery is also possible. Physical demands consist of sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, sometimes for extended periods. Trainee must be able to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and be capable of lifting and carrying heavy items up to fifty pounds. Trainee is required to wear personal protection, including headgear, eye, ear, and footwear. Trainee must also be able to see and hear in the normal range (with correction if necessary). Trainee must be able to communicate both verbally and in written form with great facility and must be able to be understood. Trainee must have the stamina to work long hours, including occasional overtime. If assigned, the trainee must be willing to work an irregular schedule, which may include weekends, holidays, evenings, and or varying shifts, and work directly with the Water System Manager to facilitate scheduling and implementation. We are committed to offering competitive compensation for all our Lake Limerick Country Club positions. The hiring range for this full-time, year-round position is generally between $19-$23 per hour. Final salaries will be determined based on skills, education, licenses, certifications, and/or experience. All candidates must be able to pass a background check before starting employment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
 High school diploma or equivalent  Valid Washington State driver's license with a driving record acceptable to LLCC's insurance carrier  Water maintenance experience preferred  Ability to respond to after-hours incidents within 60 minutes. Possess OIT (operator in training)  Certification within 12 months Helpful knowledge of :  Water distribution operations, facilities, equipment, and materials  Water System layout including meter, water line, hydrant, and valve locations  Operation and maintenance of water meters, DCVA's, and equipment  PC-based software including Windows, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases Skill in :  Effective, professional, and positive interaction with difficult individuals  Defining problems, establishing facts, and drawing conclusions  Inspecting and diagnosing water service and fire hydrant problems  Reading and interpreting various maps, plans, drawings, and logs  Operating power-driven equipment and use of hand tools, and the ability to back up a trailer  Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with all co-worker and customers  Working independently
Pay:
$19.00 - $23.00 per hour
