From our family-owned headquarters in St. Joseph, Michigan, we've grown by putting quality, trust, and long-term relationships first. A day in the role Picture this: You start the week near Dallas, TX, driving to a customer lab to install a new analytical system. By midweek, you're troubleshooting a metallographic instrument in Houston, walking the team through best practices and software basics. You wrap up the week with preventive maintenance in Shreveport, ensuring every step aligns with LECO's ISO accreditation. Along the way, you keep customers running, share your know-how, and represent LECO's commitment to precision. Schedule and location Full-time, remote, salaried position with travel Primary coverage: Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana, with occasional support to nearby regions Travel typically includes up to four overnight stays per week (Monday-Friday) Ideal home base: Dallas, TX $5,000 signing bonus What you'll handle Preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on analytical and metallographic instruments On-site installations, updates, and upgrade kit deployments Customer training on theory, operation, software, and maintenance best practices Work performed in accordance with LECO's ISO accreditation What makes you successful Self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication Professional conduct with strict adherence to customer site protocols and safety rules Keen attention to detail and strong organizational habits Mechanical aptitude; familiarity with AC/DC electronics or a strong ability to learn Chemistry background or military experience is a plus (not required) Training and development 3-5 months of instrumentation training at LECO Corporation in St. Joseph, Michigan Field service mentorship with experienced engineers across the U.S. Annual service training at LECO headquarters in St. Joseph, Michigan Travel and requirements Ability to travel daily with up to four overnight hotel stays per week (Monday - Friday) Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record Should have a personal credit card, or the ability to obtain one Pass a background check and substance abuse screenings Must be authorized to work in the US without restriction Education and experience One or more of the following: Two Year Technical Degree or Trade School Prior Military with training in a technical field Equivalent work experience or training in a technical field Technical proficiencies Electrical Schematics Troubleshooting Skills Machine Building/Assembling Electrical Installation Electrical / Electronic Systems Field Service Readiness Industrial Electrical Systems Electrical Systems & Diagnostics (Heavy Equipment) Electrical Schematic Reading Equipment Installation & Wiring Aerospace Manufacturing Equal opportunity EOE M/F/VET/Disability
