Shift:
1st A well-established, employee-owned industrial fluid power organization is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to diagnose, install, maintain, and repair hydraulic systems at customer sites and in-house. This role requires strong hydraulic troubleshooting skills, the ability to work independently in the field, and comfort with frequent travel. This is a direct hire role in Muskego, WI. Field Service Technician Responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Travel to customer locations to diagnose and repair hydraulic systems and related equipment
- Install, set up, and commission new hydraulic systems
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime
- Build, install, and test hydraulic hoses to specification
- Troubleshoot hydraulic pumps, valves, cylinders, motors, and manifolds
- Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, drawings, and technical manuals
- Perform minor electrical wiring related to hydraulic systems
- Accurately document service work, repairs, and parts used
- Manage job scheduling, tools, and spare parts while traveling
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Comply with OSHA and company safety standards
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and service vehicle
- Interact professionally with customers on-site
Field Service Technician Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in hydraulic systems or fluid power field service
- Strong hydraulic troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics
- Mechanical aptitude with hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices
- Basic electrical knowledge related to industrial equipment
- Comfortable with frequent travel and overnight stays
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to pass a DOT non-CDL physical
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer skills (ERP systems, Outlook)
- Preferred fluid power certifications or willingness to obtain
- Preferred experience with mobile hydraulics or industrial equipment
- Preferred metal fabrication or basic welding experience
- Preferred knowledge of pneumatics and electrical controls
- Preferred experience servicing equipment in construction, mining, rail, or industrial environments
Travel:
- Local service calls with up to 50% overnight travel
