Job Description

Hotel Maintenance Technicians are responsible for the upkeep of the hotel and for ensuring the hotel interior and exterior are properly maintained and repaired. They inspect the hotel to make sure it is in good running order. They perform preventative and corrective maintenance and repairs to all areas of the hotel including its exterior, heating and cooling systems, plumbing, electrical systems, floors, walls, and furniture. The right candidate for this position should be prepared for the physical vigor of the job. They should have the knowledge of using a variety of tools and types of equipment as well as sound understanding of troubleshooting maintenance equipment. A skilled, professional Hotel Maintenance Worker should also have knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to spot safety risks. Skills required for this job include mechanical aptitude, organization, and attention to detail. Reliability and excellent communication skills are required. Responsibilities Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on premises Inspect and repair various energy systems such as heating and cooling systems, plumbing, and lighting. Assist with repairing floors, doors, and walls Installation of new products such as flooring, light fixtures, cabinetry, and small appliances Repaint walls, fix broken furniture, and handle leaks in kitchens and bathrooms Repair electrical and mechanical equipment such as fans and air conditioners Conduct maintenance and repairing tasks such as replacing ceiling tiles, changing lightbulbs, and fixing faucets Check functionality of safety systems such as fire alarms and CCTV cameras Oversee contractors when professional repairs are necessary Lubricate, clean and inspect equipment, machines, or tools Perform exterior upkeep activities such as mowing lawn, removing snow, applying de-icer, collecting trash, etc. Perform appropriate clean-up following maintenance activities Collaborate with other professionals during renovations Inspect public areas daily in case of problems arising unexpectedly Respond to maintenance requests by hotel manager and/or front desk and housekeeping staff Skills Polite, respectful, and professional demeanor Good communication skills Ability to plan, organize, and execute work Responsiveness to management and other team members Quality workmanship The person filling this position will work closely with other maintenance staff and upper management to ensure each of our properties are kept in tip-top shape.
