Job Description
Job Overview Industrial Pumps of Alaska - Soldotna, AK Industrial Pumps of Alaska is seeking a motivated, mechanically-inclined individual to join our team as a Mechanical Seal Technician . This is a hands-on position responsible for the inspection, repair, assembly, and testing of industrial mechanical seals used in mining, oil & gas, municipal, and industrial applications throughout Alaska. Mechanical seal experience is preferred but not required—we are willing to train the right candidate. We are looking for someone with strong mechanical aptitude, exceptional attention to detail, patience, and a genuine desire to learn a specialized trade. Duties Disassemble, inspect, clean, and rebuild mechanical seals. Measure and inspect components to ensure they meet quality standards. Assemble seals with precision and attention to detail. Perform quality control inspections and testing. Prepare inspection reports and accurately document repair findings. Receive, inspect, organize, and stock incoming shipments. Prepare outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, and documentation. Maintain inventory accuracy and assist with inventory control. Enter repair information, inspection reports, and shipping documentation into company computer systems. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow shop procedures and quality standards. Work closely with other technicians to meet customer deadlines. Qualifications Strong mechanical aptitude. Exceptional attention to detail and ability to perform meticulous work. Patience and willingness to learn a highly specialized trade. Basic computer skills, including the ability to complete inspection reports, shipping documentation, and other electronic records. Ability to follow detailed procedures and work independently. Positive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a shop environment. Previous experience with rotating equipment, pumps, machining, automotive, diesel, industrial maintenance, shipping/receiving, or warehouse operations is a plus, but not required. Compensation & Benefits $22.00-$30.00 per hour , depending on experience. Full-time position. 90-day probationary/trial period. Paid on-the-job training.
