In this role, you will be responsible for installing, customizing, and upgrading vehicles with various accessories and systems to meet client specifications and industry standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of vehicle modifications, ensuring safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Install and assemble vehicle accessories, including shelving, lighting, racks, and custom fixtures using hand tools and power tools. Interpret technical schematics and mechanical drawings to ensure precise installation of systems. Conduct vehicle maintenance and repairs related to installed components, ensuring all work complies with safety standards. Use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters to troubleshoot electrical systems and ensure proper functionality. Handle manual tasks involving lifting, positioning, and securing heavy equipment or vehicle parts safely. Perform mechanical systems repair and maintenance on various vehicle models, including diesel-powered vehicles. Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards. Maintain accurate documentation of installations and repairs for client records and quality assurance. Follow safety protocols diligently during all phases of installation and maintenance work. Assist in diagnosing issues related to automotive electrical systems and perform necessary repairs. Connecting electrical fittings, drilling holes, soldering, and performing all physical tasks associated with modifying vehicles for the acceptance of emergency-related equipment. Installing electrical wiring, antenna systems, route antenna, data, and power cabling, and applying a variety of electrical connectors. Disassembling and reassembling trim, seats, lights, headliners, and carpet in motor vehicles, heavy equipment, and any other type of equipment to properly route wiring and install equipment. Troubleshooting and diagnosing problems with equipment as necessary. Completing installations for diverse range of vehicle makes and models, including sedans, SUVs, commercial trucks, buses, motorcycles, and ATVs. Maintaining a safe and clean environment including orderly of tools. Learning new products, skills techniques from colleagues and manufacturers. Completing all required paperwork and documentation. Maintaining customer confidence by keeping service information confidential. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive service and vehicle maintenance. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and schematics for system installation. Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely and effectively. Knowledge of mechanical systems repair, including automotive electrical systems. 2 years of technical experience, or a combination of related education/experience. Basic knowledge and experience with the installation of systems/equipment within various vehicle types, such as 2-way radios, controls, lighting, cameras, antennas, GPS, sirens, and other relevant devices/public safety equipment Knowledge/ability to read electrical and install diagrams. Basic ability to test/troubleshoot electrical and system issues. Ability to assemble/disassemble, properly route wiring, connect electrical fittings, install wiring harnesses, drill holes, solder, and perform the physical tasks associated with the vehicle upfits and installations. Basic understanding of DC voltage, resistance, and current. Basic understanding of wire gauges and fuses based on DC current demand. Ability to use basic tools and test equipment, including hand tools, power drillers, multi-meters, and watt meters.
