Job Description

Are you a skilled and motivated Heavy Equipment Mechanic eager to keep industrial machinery running smoothly and efficiently? In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy equipment including excavators, wheel loaders, dozers, off road haul trucks and other heavy machinery. Your expertise will ensure that equipment operates safely and reliably, supporting our operations across various industries. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and diverse machinery, making a tangible impact on daily operations and project success. Perform comprehensive diagnostics using schematics, OEM manuals, and electrical testing to identify mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in heavy equipment. Conduct repairs and maintenance on excavators, dozers, compactors , haul trucks and other heavy machinery to ensure optimal performance. Repair and replace transmissions, axles, suspensions, hydraulics, air brake systems, and undercarriage components with precision. Fabricate parts or modifications as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific operational requirements. Execute routine vehicle maintenance including pm services , fluid checks, HVAC system servicing, and diesel engine repairs to maximize equipment lifespan. Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex systems involving electrical components and mechanical assemblies. Perform heavy lifting tasks safely using appropriate equipment while adhering to safety standards. Maintain detailed service records of repairs performed and parts used for accountability and future reference. Assist in assembly or disassembly of equipment during repairs or upgrades. Support customer service efforts by providing clear communication regarding repair timelines and maintenance needs. Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders or similar industrial machinery. Dealership experience highly preferred for familiarity with OEM parts and diagnostic procedures. Strong mechanical knowledge across transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, electrical systems, and diesel engines. Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex issues effectively. Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; experience with power tools is essential. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during repairs. Experience working with farm machinery or automotive repair is advantageous. Knowledge of heavy equipment operation is a plus for better understanding of machine functions during diagnostics. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with team members and clients alike. Valid certifications related to heavy equipment maintenance and repair are desirable but not mandatory. Strong problem-solving skills combined with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments.
