As an Equipment Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and conducting preventive maintenance to keep equipment running smoothly. Responsibilities Perform diagnostic assessments using schematics, OEM manuals, and electrical testing to identify mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on various equipment types. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other farm or industrial equipment. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering tools, and fabrication techniques to repair or modify machinery components. Replace or repair transmissions, brakes, suspensions, air brakes, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and alignments to ensure safety and operational efficiency. Troubleshoot electrical systems using schematics and perform electrical repairs or upgrades as needed. Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks to extend equipment lifespan and minimize downtime. Support heavy lifting operations safely using appropriate lifting equipment while adhering to safety protocols. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge across a variety of equipment including heavy construction machinery, farm implements, and automotive systems. Proficient in diagnosing issues with automotive diagnostics tools and reading schematics for electrical troubleshooting. Experience with diesel engines, transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension systems, and tire service. Ability to operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers safely and efficiently. Familiarity with service technician practices including vehicle maintenance and HVAC systems for industrial applications. Comfortable performing heavy lifting tasks while maintaining safety standards at all times.
