FIELD HEAVY EQUIPMENT MECHANIC. A

field mechanic for Ames is responsible for keeping the equipment in good operating condition at all times to accomplish 100% availability and safe operation. The Field Mechanic will work in the Arizona region and travel to multiple projects and surrounding states within the Southwest region. The perfect candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience on heavy equipment such as, but not limited to, dozers, track hoes and loaders, haul trucks, and excavators. This is a full-time position, and the Mechanic will be required to join the Operator's Local 12 as a Group 4 mechanic. Light truck auto mechanic experience a plus. Responsibilities

  • Must understand and adhere to personal responsibility for safety and work safely at all times
  • Adhere to all company safety protocols and policies
  • Ability to work as a team, communicate effectively, and take ownership of assigned tasks
  • Perform general maintenance & lube services on vehicles
  • Able to have a flexible work shift, work extended hours, or possible weekends as workload requires
  • Receive on-the-job training and direction
  • Complete all job tasks on time as required by the supervisor Qualifications
  • Must have excellent troubleshooting skills with a confident ability to navigate through electrical and hydraulic schematics
  • Is a self-starter and highly driven with good organizational skills
  • Willing to promote a teamwork atmosphere by working closely with all departments throughout the company
  • Can work in a high-pressure environment and maintain a professional and positive attitude.
  • Excellent mechanical skills with prior experience
  • Able to work under time constraints and understand the urgency to place equipment back in production
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Possess a valid and clear Class B CDL license
  • Must be a proficient welder
  • Good physical condition
  • Required tools to perform the job efficiently
  • Ability to operate equipment
  • Ability and willingness to travel overnight to outlying jobs
  • Ability and willingness to work nights, weekends, and overtime when needed
