Job Description
Company Overview The AIS Infrastructure Group consists of four heavy civil construction companies. Our services include infrastructure improvement, heavy civil construction, and site development for government and state agencies and private enterprise across the United States. We do a wide variety of heavy civil projects, including highways, bridges, and DOT work, power plants, dams and reservoirs, underground utilities, and more. Job Summary:
The Heavy Equipment Technician is responsible for conducting maintenance and repairs on AIS Infrastructure's construction and industrial equipment. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliable operation and optimal performance of the equipment. The Mechanic must possess a strong knowledge of mechanical systems and adhere to AIS Infrastructure's safety standards and protocols. Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on construction and industrial equipment. Conduct preventive maintenance activities to identify and address potential issues before they cause equipment failure. Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system problems. Replace faulty parts and components, ensuring proper installation and calibration. Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and parts inventory.Requirements and Education:
Class B or class A CDL. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a mechanic in the construction or industrial sector. Knowledge of construction equipment, such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and cranes. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written Strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills. Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and technical drawings. Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and hand and power tools. Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Attention to detail in performing inspections and repairs. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Customer service skills when interacting with internal teams and external vendors.Preferred Requirements and Education:
Certification or training in mechanical or automotive technology is preferred. Familiarity with diagnostic software and computerized systems is a plus. High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
