THE POSITION
Under general supervision, the Equipment Services Specialist performs preventative and semi-skilled work such as: maintenance, repair, and overhaul of a variety of automotive and mechanical equipment repairs or replaces conventional, medium-duty tires tests and repairs of starting and charging systems recharge batteries inspection of motorized and mechanical equipment performs preventative maintenance for all equipment and performs related duties as required This is a part-time, at-will, non-benefited position that may work up to 20 hours a week and reports to the Equipment Mechanic.

ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
This class reports to the Equipment Maintenance Supervisor or Lead Equipment Mechanic. No supervision is exercised.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Education Graduation from High School or GED is required. Current enrollment or completion of mechanical trade courses is highly desired. Experience Six months of preventative maintenance experience with automotive and power-driven equipment required.
Knowledge of:
Tools, equipment, techniques, and procedures used in the maintenance, repair, and adjustment of automotive, construction, 2-cycle, and other heavy equipment; lubricating oils and greases.
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to perform preventative maintenance, make basic mechanical repairs, and to assist in the more difficult repairs of a wide variety of automotive and power driven equipment; skills in troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing the more routine faulty operating and mechanical troubles; ability to keep accurate records and assist in preparing reports on the preventative maintenance program; follow oral and written instructions; use independent judgment in recognizing and resolving problems dealing with the preventative maintenance program; ability to read and comprehend automotive and equipment maintenance and repair manuals.
LICENSES REQUIREMENTS
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a Class C California Motor Vehicle Operator's License at the time of appointment and as a continuing condition of employment.
PHYSICAL EFFORT
