Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanic Assistant to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will support experienced heavy equipment and vehicle mechanics in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of machinery and automotive systems. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in heavy equipment operation, automotive diagnostics, fabrication, and more within a fast-paced environment committed to safety and excellence. Responsibilities Assist with the inspection, maintenance, and repair of heavy machinery, and work trucks Support mechanics in performing diagnostics on vehicle electrical systems, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension components, and brake systems. Use hand tools, power tools, and other mechanical tools to facilitate repairs and assembly tasks. Conduct routine equipment maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, air brake adjustments, shocks & struts replacement. Support the repair of automotive electrical systems, diesel engines, powertrains, and vehicle systems for trucks and trailers. Assist with heavy lifting tasks using appropriate lifting equipment while adhering to safety protocols. Requirements Previous experience working in a dealership or heavy equipment service environment is highly preferred. Mechanical knowledge of industrial equipment, heavy trucks, and automotive repair is essential. Familiarity with schematics for electrical wiring, hydraulic systems, transmissions, and vehicle diagnostics. Ability to operate heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, trailers safely and efficiently. Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance procedures including brake repair, diesel engine repair, and vehicle electrical system troubleshooting. Excellent hand tool proficiency along with the ability to perform heavy lifting safely. Good customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and clients when needed.
