OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Mobile Equipment Mechanic to perform mechanical repairs and maintenance on a variety of heavy-duty mobile equipment. This role is critical to ensuring the reliability and safety of our fleet, including loaders, dozers, haul trucks, water trucks , pickups, and other support vehicles
JOB DUTIES
Performs a daily workplace inspections and promptly reports any hazards and issues. Diagnoses mechanical problems and performs repairs and preventative maintenance on diesel and gasoline mobile equipment, including but not limited to loaders, dozers, haul trucks, water trucks, pickup trucks, , and small support equipment. Performs repairs, using hand and pneumatic tools, welding and cutting torch equipment, as well as lifts and hoists, according to MSHA and AWS safety and performance standards. Safe usage of hand tools, hoists, jacks and pneumatic tools is required. Performs pre-trip safety inspections of mobile equipment, including service trucks, and documents any concerns. Operates mobile equipment (to diagnose and transport). Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma, trade school or general education degree (GED); and 6-10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong knowledge and ability to diagnose and perform repairs on Diesel and gasoline engine systems. Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking and reporting.
WORK DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENT
Must be physically capable of accessing all mobile equipment located at the plant l which could include heights , confined spaces, elevated platforms, climbing ladders or stairs. Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, as needed, including hard hat, hearing protection, eye protection, hard-toed safety shoes or boots, (dust mask respirator) when required, protective clothing, gloves and other personal protective equipment. The employee will be exposed to the following working conditions: Extreme heat and cold, noise, vibration, oils, and atmospheric conditions such as dust, fumes, and mineral particles. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, walk, balance, stoop, kneel, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb ladders and stairs, shovel material and work on elevated platforms. Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds.
