In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy equipment, industrial machinery, and vehicle systems. Your expertise in welding and mechanical repairs will ensure that equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse machinery, including farm equipment, construction vehicles, and heavy trucks, contributing directly to operational success and safety. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractors using schematics and technical manuals. Conduct welding repairs including MIG, TIG, and arc welding to restore structural integrity of machinery and components. Maintain and repair vehicle systems including transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, air brakes, and electrical systems. Execute routine maintenance tasks such as tire service, fluid changes, filter replacements, and equipment inspections to prevent breakdowns. Operate heavy machinery safely during repair procedures or testing phases; handle heavy lifting with appropriate tools and safety protocols. Read and interpret schematics for electrical wiring, hydraulic systems, and mechanical assemblies to ensure precise repairs. Document all maintenance activities thoroughly in logs; communicate effectively with team members regarding repair status or parts needed. Requirements Proven experience as a mechanic with a focus on heavy equipment repair; dealership experience is highly desirable. Strong welding skills including MIG, TIG, arc welding; ability to perform fabrication tasks confidently. Knowledge of heavy machinery operation such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery. Familiarity with automotive diagnostics tools and electrical system repair techniques. Ability to read schematics accurately for electrical wiring and hydraulic systems; proficient in using hand tools and power tools safely. Mechanical knowledge of transmissions, suspensions, shocks & struts, HVAC systems, diesel engines, and vehicle systems for trucks and trailers. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting; comfortable working in various environments requiring manual dexterity. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with customer service orientation to support internal teams or clients effectively.
