Powertrain Full Job Description We are seeking an experienced and safety-minded Heavy Equipment Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair our fleet of heavy civil construction and underground utility machinery across Southeast Florida. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical troubleshooting to ensure minimal downtime and maximum operational efficiency on our job sites.
Key Responsibilities Diagnostics & Repair:
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine issues on heavy equipment (excavators, bulldozers, skid steers, telehandlers, hydraulic hammers, etc.).
Preventative Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance services, fluid/filter changes, and daily equipment inspections.
Field Support:
Execute emergency repairs and mobile service calls directly on active job sites as required.
Hydraulics & Systems:
Inspect, repair, or replace hydraulic pumps, valves, cylinders, high-pressure hoses, and attachment tools.
Documentation:
Keep accurate service records, track parts usage, and document completed work orders.
Safety Compliance:
Enforce strict job site safety standards and OSHA guidelines at all times.
Qualifications & Experience Experience:
5+ years of verified hands-on experience as a heavy equipment mechanic or heavy diesel technician.
Technical Skills:
Strong proficiency with hydraulic schematics, diesel engines, powertrains, and electronic diagnostics.
Tools:
(specialty/heavy tools provided).
License:
Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record (CDL preferred for service truck operation).
Certifications:
Active OSHA 10 Construction card preferred.
Language:
Bilingual capability in English & Spanish is strongly preferred.
Pay:
$30.00 - $40.00 per hour
