We're excited to meet you! Duties/Responsibilities Maintains vehicles, which may include a company's fleet of trucks, heavy equipment, tractor/trailers, and other motor vehicles. Performs routine and preventive maintenance, including oil changes and tune-ups. Performs tests on specific parts and systems to ensure proper function. Identifies mechanical problems either visually or with computer diagnostic equipment. Examines critical parts and systems using a standard checklist. Repairs or replaces malfunctioning parts and systems such as brake pads, belts, water pumps, transmissions, and other mechanical parts. Plans and establishes a timetable to complete repairs and maintenance. Works with other job sites to inspect vehicles and keep the entire fleet in good condition. Test drives vehicles to confirm safe and proper operation. Performs DOT and brake inspections on all vehicles. Performs system diagnostics and electrical repairs by reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams to locate shorts, open circuits, and faulty modules. Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty wiring harnesses, connectors, alternators, starters, switches, and
ECU/ECM/TCM
components. Repairs and replaces PTO systems, suspension components, motors, transmissions, and other mechanical components. Performs electrical troubleshooting using diagnostic scan tools. Maintains knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and other applicable state and federal regulations. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities Extensive knowledge of all aspects of vehicle repair. Excellent mechanical repair skills. Strong electrical diagnostic and troubleshooting skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and interpret service and repair manuals, wiring diagrams, and parts diagrams. Proficient with computer diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and related software. Ability to diagnose and repair both mechanical and electrical systems. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Vocational/technical school program or apprenticeship in auto repair, diesel mechanics, or a related field required. Two years of related experience preferred. CDL preferred, not required. Physical Requirements Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections. Must be able to lift 75 pounds at times. Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present. Must be able to safely perform physical tasks associated with vehicle inspection, maintenance, and repair.
