Odessa, FL Job Summary:
As a heavy equipment mechanic, you will be responsible, inspecting engines and equipment, carrying out services, conducting repairs, troubleshooting electric and hydraulic systems and providing routine maintenance to the construction fleet. To ensure success as a heavy equipment mechanic, you should have proven experience working with special foundation heavy machinery (experience with BAUER equipment is strongly preferred), have an understanding of hydraulic and electric systems, and be able to troubleshoot issues in both workshop and out on the job site.
Requirements:
Heavy Equipment Mechanic Responsibilities:
Inspecting large drill rigs, high pressure pumps, slurry mix plants and other heavy equipment for proper performance. Diagnosing faults using computerized testing equipment. Trouble shooting hydraulic and electrical systems. Adjusting equipment and replacing faulty parts. Repairing damaged equipment parts. Cleaning, lubricating, and conducting routine services on heavy-duty machines. Performing major repair work when necessary. Consulting with other mechanics. Reporting damaged or faulty equipment to management. Creating parts lists needed to repair equipment. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Heavy Equipment Mechanic Requirements:
High school diploma or GED. Certification as a heavy equipment mechanic. Proven work experience as a diesel or heavy equipment mechanic. Understanding of computer testing technologies. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Extensive knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems. Capable of reading and understanding hydraulic and electrical schematics. Ability to work after-hours if required. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work on a team. Must be open to traveling nationwide - position will be based out of Odessa, FL.
