Position Summary:
Innovative Professional Solutions, Inc. (IPS)—a successful defense contractor located in Panama City Beach, Florida—has provided exceptional support to our Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD) customers since 2001. We are looking for a Junior Engineering Technician that will provide technical support for engineers engaged in research, design, development, testing, overhauling, and refurbishment support to Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD) Mine Warfare (MIW) and Technical Support programs. The Technician will assist engineers and other technicians in the development and fabrication of mechanical, electronic, and electrical prototypes, subassemblies, components, parts, equipment, and systems. Technical tasks are performed in contractor or government facilities within the United States and abroad. This position requires a Department of Defense Secret security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
Highlights of Responsibilities:
  • Support preparation, assembly/disassembly, preventative and corrective maintenance, testing and/or troubleshooting of relevant U.S. Navy systems and equipment.
  • Construct test support equipment.
  • Perform electrical/electronic integrity inspections, inspections of mechanical equipment, troubleshooting, and repairing of equipment.
  • Participate in test event and demonstrations.
  • Assemble, inspect, and test various parts and sub-assemblies.
Required Education, Experience, and Certifications:
  • High School Diploma.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Background in automotive repair, HVAC, plumbing, or other construction trade.
  • Comfortable with the use of standard hand tools and small power tools.
  • Desire to learn and develop capabilities.
Working Conditions/Environment:
  • Work will be conducted at both IPS and
NSWC PCD.
  • Tasks may include reaching, lifting (up to 50 pounds), bending, squatting, kneeling, walking, and climbing stairs or ladders.
  • Tasking will include periodic work outdoors in conditions typical of Florida.
