This position is responsible for inspecting, documenting, maintaining, and preparing rental equipment to ensure it meets company and Caterpillar standards for safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Equipment Inspection & Maintenance Perform CAT Inspect evaluations on all rental returns and accurately document equipment condition, damage, and deficiencies, including photographs and detailed findings. Communicate inspection results and repair requirements to Rental Coordinators and management. Identify and report damaged attachments to minimize repair costs and downtime. Perform minor repairs and preventive maintenance including filters, batteries, lights, mirrors, body panels, decals, lubrication, and attachment installation/testing. Assist with equipment troubleshooting and basic diagnostics. Rental Fleet Readiness Prepare equipment for rental in a timely manner and ensure units are rental-ready. Maintain a customer-focused mindset by ensuring equipment is delivered in a clean, safe, and rental-ready condition. Assign and maintain rental identification codes. Replace damaged rental decals and Caterpillar safety decals. Paint equipment identification numbers and install decals as required. Assist with preparation of new rental fleet units and support equipment cleanliness and presentation standards. Safety & Compliance Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow all company, Caterpillar, customer, and OSHA safety requirements. Wear required PPE, including safety glasses, at all times in designated work areas. Participate in safety meetings, training programs, and compliance initiatives. Qualifications Mechanical experience with construction, rental, agricultural, or heavy equipment required. Strong attention to detail and documentation skills. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook, mobile devices, and inspection software, required. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Forklift certification preferred (or ability to obtain certification). Must provide and maintain an appropriate set of tools. Ability to safely operate heavy equipment. Ability to travel between branch locations and customer job sites as needed. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday. Frequent climbing on and off equipment. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment components and tools up to 50 pounds. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and around noise, dust, grease, vibration, and moving mechanical equipment. Ability to work a minimum of 8-hour shifts, with overtime as business needs require. Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned to support operational needs, fleet reliability, utilization goals, and customer satisfaction.
Pay:
$22.00 - $25.00 per hour
