You should have a minimum of 3 or more years of experience as a diesel mechanic, with a background in heavy construction equipment or rental required. Advanced experience with major & minor repairs of hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and diesel and gas engines on construction equipment and delivery fleet. Experience with Tier 4 engines and DPF, SCR, DEF, and EGR aftertreatment systems is highly preferred. Extensive experience performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and performing heavy equipment repairs. Must have the necessary tools you need to perform the scope of equipment repairs. Inspect, service, and test equipment, ensuring performance to manufacturer specifications. Advanced understanding of schematics, computer diagnostic software, and welding methods. Diesel laptop experience is required. Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and efficient time management techniques Successfully manage multiple priorities concurrently, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and effectively Safety oriented, maintaining industry and Sunstate safety standards performing equipment repairs. Collaborate to establish daily work priorities of shop, while mentoring and training an Apprentice Technician Demonstrate, perform, and instruct advanced troubleshooting/diagnoses and repair techniques for equipment Demonstrate, perform, and provide training on repairing gas and diesel engines, complex hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and drive trains to include manual and power shift transmissions on equipment and trucks Serve as a liaison between the shop and office, addressing all equipment issues such as breakdowns, customer damage, etc. Assist with key decisions regarding all major equipment repairs, ensuring that any warranty or customer damage issues are promptly addressed and communicated to the District Service Manager and Branch Manager Facilitate effective communication with shop via huddles, meetings, and one-on-one interactions Ensure adequate availability of essential shop supplies for seamless operation DOT Medical Card Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
